The set is generally amazing and is very well detailed with the classic typewriter slide and everything. I've really only got two issues with it: 1: The spacebar, shift, and shift lock keys have no effect whatsoever. The shift keys I understand since that wouldn't move the slide, but why doesn't the spacebar effect the slide? 2: The carriage return arm (the big grey bit in the top most left of the build) is extremely easy to knock off which depending on the placement of the build can be pretty bad. Sadly I think I've finally lost the arm completely and while it's not overly noticeable, it's still disappointing and I think Lego could've used an X-bar axle instead which wouldn't be as easy to knock off.
The product is really good, it is recommended to buy
The box the kit contains is high end and makes a great gift. The parts are packaged in sequence of building the kit, almost all have 2 bags per stage which helps in differentiating colors. The instructions comes in a magazine form and are fairly easy to follow. There were some small extra pieces left over. Some of the kit is not built to scale, since some of the parts are made for minifigures and the two figures included in the kit are much larger. Nice detailing of Atom/Astro boy's chest and leg. The quality of this kit are in some ways much better than lego kits. I am tempted to buy more kits from this maker.
Great Lego build and a little challenging. ? Everything arrived in time and had no issues.
My 19 yo is a Lego fanatic and he said this was his hardest build so far. The internal gears are tricky and there isn’t as much pay off for the effort as you’d expect. The piano was more satisfying in that regard and not as frustrating.
I bought this as a holiday gift for my husband. He both loves it, and is frustrated by it (in all the best ways). It will entertain him for weeks. He enjoys the challenge of LEGO Architecture kits, and while this is a bit of a departure, we both think it's a very cool and unique set.
Lego did it again! This set kept my 13 year old daughter busy for a weekend and now she wants a real typewriter! Great gift for any Lego enthusiast.
It's a Lego typewriter, how much cooler do you want it to be? Some sections difficult to put together. But the keys move as does the cylinder the paper goes through. It's pretty awesome.
