I had the super large size of this light pad and it was AMAZING! Totally different experience. If you have a studio, I recommend getting the bigger size. I sold the big one since I rarely do large projects and it was just not as portable. This size is great and portable and does the job. Two particular complaints. The biggest issue is when you power this size light pad on, it sort of flickers as it comes up to brightness. Then, most times, it just fades off again. I returned the first one I bought and the replacement does the same thing. I basically power it up and when it immediately starts to power itself down, I hit the power button again. Sometimes do this a couple times before the light pad stays on. To me this is a design or production flaw in this size model. Second issue, it is just not that bright. The larger size was super-bright and powered through multiple layers of anything reasonable that I used it with. This 9x12 size? It does the job. Mostly. It is a bit muted rather than bright white light. It also just does not shine through even the one layer of paper I am drawing on. A bit disappointed in the quality of this one. I LOVE the damn thing. And I really do not want any other brand or product. This one is just not as good as it could be.

I am not a very good drawer and I like to trace pencil drawings onto watercolor paper so that I can paint on. I like keeping the original drawing so that if I mess up, I can just make another copy from my light master tracer. It is 9 x 12 as is a lot of your good watercolor paper. That is another must.....great quality watercolor paper such as 140 lb. It is not too heavy to where you cannot see what you are tracing such as the 300 lb.

This is just right for a light box. It’s thin, bright enough I can use it on 300 lb paper and see my line drawing through it. It could even be used in your lap.

After working on a 2" thick light box, I love how thin and light this is. I knocked it down a star because of the power cord issue mentioned by others--the power input sticks straight out from the box, just waiting to be bent or snapped off--otherwise I love this light tablet. To avoid problems with the cord I taped a small piece of mounting board to the back of the light box, extending it out just enough to support the end of the power cord. It would have been better had the power input port been recessed so the cord wasn't so vulnerable, but for $50 I think you can expect only so much. I found I can use my USB portable charger as a power source, should I ever find the need to trace when I travel.

Don’t like that it only has one level of brightness.

I use it to trace topographical maps, and it works like a charm. However, I also have a lot of color slides from the past. If you have to sort out photographic negatives and slides, this is a great light tablet. The light is bright but soft and the tablet stays cool. I'm happy with it.

Great light box! I use this for my label designs for my CBD and health supplement products. This enables me to print templates and my design to double check there are no errors in the final label. This will work great for tracing or anything requiring a bright backlight.

Love it, perfect for working with my cricut my eyes are not great so this helped a lot, great size bright light easy
