You need to give this thing a chance it's a monster especially on 3s. It handles great and there are alot of upgrade parts available for it. This truck is hobby grade it's really fast on 2s pack that comes with it but like I said it's crazy fast for the price on 3s. I love this truck and highly recommend it.
This is a step up for us from a slower model and boy does this baby go. Spent some time racing on a lake trying to outrun boats and did a few times. The battery lasts longer if you aren't going full out all the time. Easy to maneuver. Easy to right if it flips. Crazy little rocket on the water. Highly recommend.

I still have my UDI001 Venom after 4 years and it's still going strong so I decided to upgrade to the UDI005 and I could not be more pleased after my first two runs. My fun factor went up 10x. The UDI005 is twice as fast as my UDI001 which immediately translated into so much more fun and I like how it can make quick 180 degree turns when I get too close to shore or an alligator ( they seem to enjoy chasing it) in the golf course pond in back. I found it has more range than my UDI001 although they seem to have the exact transmitter. I also enjoy the rooster tail it creates. Mine included an extra propeller and tools to replace if necessary and the battery has a XT60 connector which should make it easy for me to find an extra. After reading some negative reviews on the self righting capabilities, I tested this first in my pool and had it flip back over in the first 2 seconds just like the UDI001. I am use to the short run times with these which is why I am looking into more backup batteries as I have several for my UDI001 Venom and that solved that runtime issue. I did ductape a couple squished styrofoam peanuts under the top cap just in case it popped off to avoid losing it like others suggested but it seemed secure if put on correctly. Motor compartment remained bone dry after both runs. So it has renewed my love of RC boats again and am looking forward to the next full charge which takes about 3 hours after a cool down, but I am used to that as well.
