I bought one of these toothbrushes initially because my dentist said I was brushing too hard and my gums were starting to recede, he recommended the Oral-B. I have no idea how long ago it was, but my recollection is my youngest child using it and she still had all of her baby teeth. She graduates from college next month, so 15 to 17 years. Most of the rubber coating has worn off the handle but it was still on its original battery. As of a couple months ago it wouldn’t hold a charge longer than a minute and didn’t want to fully charge. After the novelty of being new, my kids all returned to their standard toothbrushes, but I have faithfully used this toothbrush day and night since I purchased it. The dentist tells me my gums are fine. I bought this one as a replacement, hopefully this one will last half as long.
Love it. Arrived VERY quickly and replaced older model. Pulsation action is much faster and better. From my research, the 3000 seems to be recognized as the 'sweet spot' in the Oral B range. Upper model features probably not worth the extra expense for most people. The 3000 has higher pulsation rate then the 1000.
The handle is too smooth; it should have more grip. The power button should be more prominent; and it is a nuisance to have to hold it down to shut off.
