I have a fair amount of experience with different brands and different size/scale rc vehicles, and this one PERFORMS. I did upgrade the battery- not to 3S but rather with a 7.4volt with higher C rating. So some of my impression and positivity comes from the Thunder ability to be capable of using this upgraded battery.
After a couple of hours of playing around the house with the car without bumping it to hard just the usually but in the chair legs or a wall, one of the things that makes a wheel function broke and fell of. It was supposed to be extremely durable but ours didn’t even last the same with a regular kids one.
Updated- it appears that I can replace the broken part for a fairly inexpensive price. It still broke prematurely however the overall design seems superior to the competitors. Time will tell if this was a fluke or if it is a design prone to failure. Let me start by stating that I have several other similar rc trucks from competitor companies. At first this one seemed to be superior in construction and design however the frame broke the first time in use. The biggest problem is that it broke at a place that could not be repaired with replacement parts. None of my other rc trucks have never had a catastrophic failure like this. I've driven thr others for months and only ever had to replace a few of thr regular "replaceable" parts. This was the most expensive rc truck I have and this is extremely disappointing. Unless I can get the company to help me out I am stuck with a $150 parts kit.
