I’ve never owned a welder before this, if you read the directions, it is very easy to feed the wire through and get everything set up to weld. And once you get the voltage and wire speed dialed in you’re good to go. I would say this is more for a beginner who is just learning the ropes but I think this will work for pretty much anything you’re doing at home unless you’re doing big industrial size jobs with big thick metal. I have welded metal thicker than what this welder says it can weld and it turned out fine and the welds worked. Overall a very good purchase didn’t have any quality control issues with either Piece. I bought the welder and the helmet that goes with it.
I gave this review rating because the first one came with a Bad spool motor and I had to send it back. They did send me a new machine immediately and the new one works great. Let me end this by saying that they do stand behind their products and that means a lot to me...
I am a professional welder I decided to buy this unit for fun just to see if it is good. Overall the quality of the unit is pretty good but not the nicest welder you'll ever have works but sometimes cuts out and will trip on a 20amp outlet but you can definitely get by with it it can lay some good beads and if you have some skill you can make it work great! The thing is kinda heavy if you don't have a little cart for it (I build a cart out of scrap metal) but would be a decent shop welder to start off with I decided to upgrade the plug with a 30amp plug and it worked a lot better and I could use both modes
This allows soldering of surface mount components reliably. There is a learning curb. But it is a great starter set.
