Okay so first things first: I am black and I work at a derm clinic as a medical assistant. My time working has showed me that mineral sunscreen is the best and what is recommended by providers! I have never tried a tinted sunscreen before but wanted to give this a try based on the photos of all skin tones using it. TO MAKE IT WORK, use moisturizer first or with it! Look at the photo of the models testing it, their skin looks very dewy! This could be edited but still, this spreads and blends so nicely with moisturizer! Just like moisturizer blends best with a bit water on the skin first. I love that this sunscreen looks great on the skin and if i wipe my hand on my face, theres no color transfer. It also wears really well under makeup! As far as sun protection goes…hard to say. I dont reapply during the day and definitely dont get sun burns. So is this the best sunscreen ever? Eh, probably not. Does it work and is good for the price? Definitely!!!

I am a 40-something woman with sensitive skin. I have vasomotor flushing. This means the skin on my face and upper body (cheeks, chin, neck, upper chest) flare up with redness. This can happen daily. The redness hurts like a throbbing, is uncomfortable, and can be unsightly. It can happen due to weather conditions, because of my emotions, due to what I have consumed, and sometimes it is unknown. It is not rosacea. This has been happening since I was in 4th grade. I was misdiagnosed with rosacea for 10 years, but rosacea does not hurt and does not begin when you are ten. The absolute best thing to do with this condition is to first, find yourself a good dermatologist (which I am not) and wear sunscreen! Incidentally, I’ve also done some laser treatments to clean up some of the capillaries/veins that are too close to the surface. It is imperative to wear sunscreen every day when you have such sensitive skin. My dermatologist recommended using products with NIACINAMIDE. This product contains that, is SPF 30, and is tinted to give that little bit of coverage so when I’m doing quick errands I can simply use this on my face. For ease of spreading it on my face, and personal preference, I may combine this CeraVe product with CeraVe AM facial moisturizing lotion. My dermatologist confirmed to me that CeraVe is a good product for people with sensitive skin. PROS: 1.) Good for sensitive skin (vasomotor flushing-veins/capillaries too close to the surface of the skin). 2.) Good for red skin since it contains NIACINAMIDE. 3.) Product is SPF 30 which is an absolute must. 4.) Product provides light coverage so I do not have to wear coverup concealer which is nice when you want to run out the door. CONS: 1.) I would love to see this product with an SPF 50 or more since sunscreen is essential. 2.) It seems it only comes in one color. It happens to work for me but there are many different shades of skin color so it would be nice to see such a great product be more inclusive for a wider range of people.

I absolutely love this sunscreen! It feels very lightweight and blends in well with minimal effort. I have very dry skin and find this sunscreen to feel hydrating with a smooth application. Please note that I do apply this sunscreen after using a facial moisturizing lotion in my regular skincare routine. The tint in the sunscreen is a pretty close match to my Asian skin color, so I don't have to worry about any white cast. I rarely wear foundation or concealer as the tinted sunscreen has light coverage sufficient for my preferences. Upon first application, the sunscreen does look pretty shiny. The shine becomes less noticeable 10-15 minutes post-application. The only concern I do have is that the sunscreen does not hold up very well in wet saunas, pools, or beaches. I typically use a chemical non-tinted sunscreen on those occasions as I find this mineral sunscreen washes away pretty quickly in very humid or wet conditions. Overall, I have loved this product for several years now and use it every day without fail.
